Empower Business Consults Practical consulting, measurable change

Most consulting engagements begin with a pitch deck. Ours begin with evidence. Before we propose anything, we want you to see what our work actually changes.

The quotes on the left come from two recent clients. One runs a 140-person logistics operation across the East Midlands. The other chairs a 50-seat software company that had stalled at £8m ARR. Different industries, different problems, same underlying pattern: the answers were already inside the business, buried under habit and assumption.

We are Empower Business Consults, a business consulting practice based in Schmittwick, England. We work with companies between roughly £2m and £40m in revenue, the range where growth creates complexity faster than management structures can absorb it.

Our work is not about slide decks or generic benchmarks. We sit inside your operating reality for weeks at a time, interview your people, read your financials line by line, and build recommendations you can act on the day we present them.

How an engagement unfolds

Week 1–2: Immersion

We spend the first fortnight inside your business. That means sitting in on management meetings, walking warehouse floors, reading board packs, and interviewing people at every level. No surveys, no questionnaires. Direct observation.

"They asked questions nobody on our team had thought to ask." — Operations director, food manufacturing client

Week 3–4: Diagnosis

We synthesise what we found into a diagnostic document: a candid, evidence-based assessment of where value is being created, where it is leaking, and where the organisation is stuck. This document is yours to keep regardless of whether you continue with us.

Week 5–10: Intervention design

Working closely with your senior team, we design specific interventions. These are not abstract strategies. Each one has an owner, a timeline, a cost estimate, and a projected financial impact. We pressure-test them against your cash position and your people's capacity to absorb change.

Week 10–14: Implementation support

We stay to help you execute the first wave. That might mean running a pricing workshop with your sales team, facilitating a difficult board conversation, or building the financial model your bank needs to see. We leave when you are confident the changes will stick.

"They didn't just hand us a report and disappear." — Finance director, construction services group

Month 6: Check-in

Six months after the engagement ends, we return for a half-day review. Free of charge. We look at what held, what drifted, and whether the financial projections are tracking. About a third of our clients commission a second engagement at this point, usually focused on a different part of the business.

Business consulting that changes how your company operates, not just how it talks about operating

We have seen too many consulting projects end with a beautifully formatted PDF that nobody opens after the first week. Our commitment is different: every recommendation we make must be implementable by your existing team, within your existing budget, inside a timeline that does not require heroic effort.

If you are curious whether your business fits the kind of work we do, scroll down to our fit-check section or get in touch directly.

Is this the right fit?

We are selective about the engagements we take on. Here is how to tell whether a conversation with us would be productive.

Your revenue sits between £2m and £40m. Below that range, our fees rarely make financial sense. Above it, you likely need a larger firm with sector-specific regulatory depth.

You have a specific problem, not a vague sense of unease. We work best when there is a concrete question: why are margins falling, how should we restructure, what does the board need to decide before year-end.

Your leadership team is willing to be challenged. Our diagnostic process is honest, sometimes uncomfortably so. If the brief is to validate a decision already made, we are not the right partner.

You can commit a senior sponsor to the engagement. We need someone with authority to open doors, share data, and champion the recommendations internally once we leave.

What recent clients changed

Consulting outcomes are hard to verify from the outside. Rather than list abstract results, here is a factual summary of the changes three recent clients implemented during and after our work together.

We have anonymised company names at their request, but the industries and figures are real.

Client sector Core issue Change implemented Financial impact (year 1)
Regional logistics Margin erosion on last-mile delivery Renegotiated subcontractor terms, consolidated two depots +£1.2m EBITDA
B2B SaaS Stalled ARR at £8m Repriced enterprise tier, launched partner channel +£2.1m ARR
Construction services Cash flow volatility Restructured payment terms, introduced milestone billing Reduced debtor days from 74 to 41
